Tess’ mother was an elementary teacher. Her father is a retired Army officer. Their service inspired Tess, teaching her the values of hard work and patriotism at an early age.
Tess manages the Journal Record newspaper’s Legislative Reporting Service at the Oklahoma Capitol. Managing a staff of four, she oversees coverage of the entire legislative process.
From bill filings and committee work, to floor debates and final votes, Tess has worked with elected officials on literally thousands of bills and legislative issues. Tess has also worked in the office of Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin and the Republican National Committee in Washington.
Tess will be an exceptional, effective Representative – on Day 1!
Tess graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma Christian University. She attends Choctaw Road Church of Christ and actively supports many Christian ministries at home and abroad.
In 2012, Tess spent her summer in Malawi, Africa, building orphanages and ministering to local villages. She’s organized fundraising events for clean water wells in Rwanda and spent the summer of 2014 volunteering in a South African refugee center teaching English, Math and Science.
As state rep, Tess will focus on similar initiatives for our kids – working to build mentorship, volunteerism and reading programs through local schools and libraries.
